Take the guesswork out of watering and feeding with the SpotOn Pocket Soil Moisture Meter — a fast, accurate handheld meter for mineral soils and soilless media. It measures soil moisture (%VWC), salinity/EC (both Bulk EC and Pore EC), and soil surface temperature, then syncs data via Bluetooth to the SpotView™ mobile app for remote viewing, geo-tagged logging, and easy CSV sharing.

Unlike meters that need constant button pressing, SpotOn provides continuous readings the moment you insert it into media, making it ideal for quick checks across multiple pots, beds, or zones. The ultra-high frequency (100 MHz) measuring circuit improves accuracy across a wide range of soil types and salinity levels, and the 2.75” rubber-mounted sensor rods are built to resist bending during regular use.

Important: This device is not waterproof. It is IP64 rated (rain and dust proof) and should not be submerged. Rinsing the probe rods for cleaning is fine.

Bulk EC vs Pore EC (What’s the Difference?)

• Bulk EC measures the electrical conductivity of the whole soil/media mass (particles, air space, and pore water).

• Pore EC estimates the EC of the pore water only — the part your plant roots actually “see.”
  Knowing Pore EC can help you better understand root-zone strength in soil or media.
