🧈 Herbal Butter Infusion Guide – Easy, Effective & Precise

Herb-infused butter is the foundation for next-level edibles – and with our Decarb & Infuser Units, it’s easier (and more accurate) than ever. Whether you’re baking, sautéing, or spreading on toast, this guide walks you through how to infuse butter with your favourite herbs or botanicals.

Note: This guide is intended for use with legal herbs only, such as rosemary, lavender, or — where lawfully prescribed — medicinal cannabis under medical supervision.


🔥 Step 1: Decarb First (If Needed)

Some herbs require activation through decarboxylation for their full potential to be available in the infusion.

✅ Recommended Decarb Settings:

Prescribed dried herb (e.g., THC-rich) 115 °C / 240 °F ~40 minutes
CBD-rich flower (prescribed) 130–140 °C / 266–285 °F ~60–90 minutes

🧈 Step 2: Choose Your Butter

🧈 Butter Type 💬 Notes
Unsalted Butter Neutral flavour. Short shelf life. Water layer must be removed.
Salted Butter Longer shelf life. Salt may affect taste in some recipes.
Clarified / Ghee ✅ Pure butterfat — no water or solids. No separation needed. Cleanest and most stable.

💡 Pro Tip: Ghee makes cleanup easier and extends the shelf life of your infusion.


⚙️ Step 3: Infuse Using Your Precision Device

Set your infusion temperature between 75–85°C (167–185°F).

⏳ Most active compounds extract within the first 2–3 hours. Longer infusions change flavour more than potency.

🧼 Step 4: Strain & Store

  • 🧺 Strain using a mesh filter or cheesecloth

  • ❄️ Cool the mixture and discard the water layer (if using butter with water content)

  • 🧴 Store in airtight, dark glass containers

  • 🧊 Refrigerate for up to 3 weeks or freeze for 6+ months
